First step is to find a suitable background image. Almost any image will do, though often a blurry one looks best. The images I use for these examples can be found by right clicking here and here, and selecting "Save Target As.." to save to your hard disk. Next we need to create the text image. Create a new black image the same size as your background image. Select the text tool text, and starting near the top left corner of the image, draw a large box all the way to the bottom right of the image. This box is where the text will appear. Type your text directly onto the image, then adjust it using the text tool's options panel. The bigger the text the better, the size was set to around 300 in the image above. To get into good habits, save this image. When working on a complex project, you should always save the source images such as this one, if you ever want to modify the image later, or composite it into a new image, it will be invaluable.
